Google just launched a closed beta called Business Home that brings your Google Business Profile, Merchant Center, YouTube and Ads into one place. Wevlopers has been watching local SEO changes closely, and this one is worth attention if you run a small or medium business that depends on Google Maps and Search for customers.
In the past week Google also started testing a cleaner, more detailed performance report inside Business Profiles. Together these changes give owners better visibility into what is working and faster ways to act. At Wevlopers we focus on practical steps that produce real calls, directions and website visits rather than vanity metrics. Here is what the new tools actually do and how you can use them today even if you do not have beta access yet.

What Google Business Home Actually Is
Business Home is a Gemini-powered hub currently available only by invitation to selected categories in the United States and the United Kingdom. It is not a full replacement for the existing Business Profile dashboard that most owners use inside Google Search or the Business Profile Manager. Instead it sits on top of your connected Google accounts and aims to turn insights into next steps.
According to Google’s own help documentation, once invited you can:
- Create content with AI assistance and studio-quality photo tools while keeping full control
- Manage locations, update hours and respond to reviews from one screen
- Receive proactive growth suggestions based on demand signals
- Connect YouTube, Google Ads and Merchant Center (one of each)
Eligibility is narrow: fewer than 10 locations for the same business, owner or manager access, and only one type of business per account. Most businesses outside the US and UK will not see an invite yet. The useful part for everyone else is the direction Google is heading—fewer logins and clearer recommendations.
New Advanced Performance Reports Are Rolling Out
Separately, Google is testing a redesigned Performance section inside regular Business Profiles. Early screenshots show clearer cards for Views, Interactions, review score, Search trends and Audience, plus top recommendations. This is different from Business Home but complementary.

Post view counts are already live for updates, offers and events published in the last 18 months. You can see them directly on each post card in the dashboard. Google has not defined exactly what counts as a view, so treat the numbers as relative—compare your own posts rather than chasing absolute targets.
Practical takeaway: open Performance once a month. Note calls, direction requests, website clicks and the search terms that surface your profile. Compare with the same month last year because most local categories are seasonal. A drop in views with stable calls is usually a counting change; a drop in both calls and directions means something real needs fixing (reviews, photos, hours or categories).
What to Do This Week Even Without Beta Access
Most owners will not get Business Home immediately. That does not mean you wait. The same fundamentals still drive results in India, Australia, the UK, the USA and the UAE:
- Turn on edit notifications. You have four days to reject a suggested edit once Google notifies you. Enable email alerts so wrong hours or phone numbers do not go live.
- Post consistently and check views. Aim for one useful update or offer every 7–10 days. Look at the view counts on existing posts and repeat the styles that get seen.
- Complete services and categories. List every service you actually sell. Primary category still carries the most weight.
- Respond to every review. Recent reviews and owner replies remain strong signals for both Maps rankings and AI answers about your business.
- Keep NAP identical. Name, address and phone must match your website, signage and directories exactly.
Restaurants can also tag menu items as gluten-free, dairy-free, halal or kosher. These badges help when people search for specific dietary needs.
How This Fits With AI Search and Local Visibility
Google’s AI Overviews and Ask Maps features pull information from your Business Profile, website and reviews. Thin or outdated profiles produce thin answers. Cleaner data, regular posts and accurate hours make it easier for both classic local packs and AI summaries to recommend you.
At Wevlopers we regularly see that the businesses that maintain basic profile hygiene pick up more of the calls that AI and Maps send. The new dashboards simply make the same work easier to see and act on.
The short video above covers several recent Google Business Profile changes from mid-October, including review appeal delays and verification tests. Watch it for context on how quickly these surfaces move.
Bottom Line
Business Home is an interesting beta that unifies tools for eligible US and UK businesses, while the improved performance reports give every owner clearer numbers. Neither replaces the daily work of accurate information, real photos, regular posts and review responses. Do those well and the new interfaces will show you the results faster.
